Welcome to the ISN Satellite Meeting Website

Sponsored by:

  The International Society for Neurochemistry

..........and

The International Drug Abuse Research Society

   The Facts:

.. Methamphetamine, MDMA, PMA and various solvents are the most widely abused drugs in Europe, the United States, Central America, South America and Asian countries. Their use has dramatically increased over the last two decades.

..These drugs of abuse are known to cause neurotoxicity in several species - not only rodents, canines and nonhuman primates, but also in humans.

..The precise neurochemical mechanisms underlying this drug-induced neurotoxicity remain unclear.

  About Us:

.The ISN Satellite meetings bring together basic scientists and clinical investigators from the international community - to provide an in-depth understanding of current knowledge concerning new conceptual insights into the CNS-acting drugs, drugs of abuse and treatment of drug addictions.

  The Meeting:

..This year's meeting is being held at the beautiful
Hyatt Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.
We look forward to a useful exchange of information, not only for neurochemists but also with investigators from various other disciplines.

..Six sessions will accommodate 6-8 speakers, 20-30 minutes per presentation.  We also plan to organize an open poster session followed by poster discussion.  The poster session and discussion are designed for other investigators to participate and hopefully to introduce a "Workshop" atmosphere to the session.

NOTICE: Abstract submission and off-site registration deadline  has been extended to May 31st, 2009.
